Daily Workflow
Edit, preview, save, and test UI through CalmUI Studio.
Normal editing loop
- Open your Unreal project.
- Choose Tools → CalmUI Studio.
- Select a package and screen.
- Edit the screen in the source editor or Inspector.
- Check the Studio preview.
- Press Save.
- Check the result in Unreal.
Studio checks and formats the active file when you save it. A clear error appears in Problems when something is wrong. The last working UI remains active, so a broken edit does not replace it.
Before a larger change
Duplicate the screen from its … menu when you want a safe variation. Use Ctrl+Z to undo a source or visual edit. Deleted project files can also be restored during the current Studio session.
Test other screen sizes
Open Tests, choose Responsive in the left panel, and run the prepared named size checks. Open a result to inspect it and use the Preview resolution presets for interactive checks.
Check Unreal behavior
Use Play In Editor for the final visual and input check. Studio shows whether an Unreal target is connected and keeps save/build work away from the editor UI so you can continue typing.
Editing assets/manifest.json also reaches a connected session right away,
without a save or a package rebuild. See Asset changes and hot
reload. Unreal →
Connection carries the same status as a pill: Assets synced, Assets
pending, or Package rebuild required when a change needs the Rebuild &
reimport package action instead.
Before you call the screen complete
Run the responsive checks and saved UI tests that cover the View. Record the same interaction in Profiler when layout, images, blur, lists, or animation may affect performance. Then test the prepared package in an Unreal Development build and follow the Shipping checklist.
Studio Preview checks the shared authoring result. It does not prove Blueprint gameplay, cooked host assets, packaged localization, controller behavior, or the performance of the final Unreal renderer.
