Introduction
Create game UI Views in CalmUI Studio, then show them in Unreal Engine.
CalmUI
CalmUI helps you build game interfaces for Unreal Engine.
You work in CalmUI Studio. Studio lets you create Views, add reusable components, change styles, preview the result, and send saved changes to Unreal.
A View is a complete interface, such as a menu. Unreal calls it a Screen. Use Blueprint to open it and respond to its buttons.
Recommended path
1. Install CalmUI
Install matching Studio and Unreal plugin files from one release.
2. Build your first View
Create a Studio project, synchronize a package, and open the View in Unreal.
3. Connect game data
Define typed values and actions, then supply them from Blueprint or C++.
4. Prepare the game
Check assets, languages, input, tests, performance, and packaged builds.
What you can create
- main menus and pause screens;
- HUD elements;
- pop-ups, tooltips, and modal windows;
- reusable buttons, panels, labels, and images;
- responsive layouts for different screen sizes;
- animated hover, focus, and pressed states.
The normal editing loop
- Open Tools → CalmUI Studio in Unreal.
- Select a CalmUI project.
- Create or edit a View.
- Press Save.
- Wait for its package to show Up to date.
- Check the result in Studio, then in Unreal.
When you need the integration details
Blueprint users can follow the exact package, Screen, Store, and action flows. C++ integrators can start with the Store API and action API. Both routes use the same package and the same per-player runtime; choose the route that owns your game's logic.
