Getting Started
Update CalmUI
Install a matching Studio and plugin release while keeping your project work.
- Back up your project work and check the new release's notes and checksums.
- Close Studio, Unreal, and any separate CalmUI command-line sessions.
- Install the new Studio release.
- Open your CalmUI project in Studio.
- Choose Unreal → Connection → Install or Update Plugin and select the game project.
- Reopen Unreal and reconnect Studio.
- Rebuild your UI packages and test the screens and button responses.
Studio keeps replaced plugin copies in the game's Saved/CalmUI/PluginBackups.
A Windows installation also stops leftover CalmUI compiler processes that could
prevent replacement of its files.
Check a supplied release manifest
Help → Check for updates from manifest… lets you select a release's
manifest.json. Studio compares its version and reports the bundled plugin
version. This only checks the file; it does not download or install the release.
A production build updates by installing a newer supplied build; there is no
automatic update channel.
If connecting reports Plugin update required, install the plugin from the matching release. See Version compatibility and Project updates.
